Refunds and cancellations

This page is the practical version of the “Free and paid plans” section of our terms of use, which governs if the two are ever read differently.

The short version How to cancel How to request a refund Deleting your account Consumer rights Contact

The short version

  • Cancel through the provider you subscribed with — Apple, Google Play or Paddle. Not through us.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. It is not a refund, and it does not shorten the period you have already paid for: your paid features keep working until that period ends.
  • Refund requests are handled by the payment provider that processed your subscription — Apple, Google Play or Paddle, under that provider's own published policy.
  • Consumer law is not affected. Nothing here reduces a remedy the law gives you — see consumer rights.
  • We can point you to the right place. Write to support@kalaplate.com.
Paid subscriptions are not offered everywhere KalaPlate runs. If no paid plan is offered to you, nothing on this page applies: your account is not charged and you are on the free plan.

How to cancel

Apple

Cancel from your Apple subscription settings, or on the device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Google Play

Cancel from your Google Play subscription settings, or in the Play Store: Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Website — Paddle

A subscription bought on this website is sold and billed by Paddle as merchant of record — the seller of that transaction in its own name. Cancel from the subscription management link in the receipt Paddle emailed you. That link is issued per subscription by Paddle rather than by us, so there is no single address we can publish here; if you cannot find your receipt, write to us and we will help you get back to it.

Cancelling does not automatically produce a refund. If you want no future charges and money back for a charge already taken, do both: cancel with the provider, and ask that provider for the refund.

How to request a refund

Which route you take depends on where you bought the subscription. We do not state a refund window of our own, because each provider publishes its own and ours would only contradict it.

Apple or Google Play

The store controls refunds for it under its own published policy, and the request goes to Apple or to Google rather than to us. Apple's requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play's go through your order history in the Play Store, or the route set out in Google Play's refund policies.

Paddle

For purchases made on this website, refund requests are handled by Paddle under Paddle's buyer terms. The quickest route is the subscription management link in your receipt, or a reply to that receipt. You can raise it with us as well and we will pass it on and support it, but the decision and the money movement are Paddle's.

Either way, tell us at support@kalaplate.com if something in KalaPlate was broken or was not what we described. We want to know regardless of who holds the money, and we will say so in support of your request.

Deleting your account

Deleting your KalaPlate account does not cancel a subscription you are paying for, and does not entitle you to a refund of a period already paid for, except where consumer law says otherwise. Cancel with the provider first, then delete the account. See the account deletion page.

Free trials

Where we grant a KalaPlate free trial, it is not a subscription: it ends on its stated date and simply stops, and nothing is charged when it ends — so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. To keep paid features afterwards, you buy a subscription.

Consumer rights

None of the above limits your rights under consumer law. If you are in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and where one of them applies and entitles you to a remedy — including a refund — you have that remedy regardless of a seller's policy, a store's or Paddle's, or anything on this page. Consumers elsewhere may have additional rights under applicable consumer laws. Nothing on this page is a waiver of any of them.

If you believe a statutory guarantee applies to you, say so when you contact the provider, and tell us as well.
